It is a shame that HP hasn't gotten their act together since it really is a nice little printer. I hope this helps someone else who searches for a solution. I am now printing over Wi-Fi from MacBook Pro 16 and also from iPhone. Using Printers & Scanners I found and added another printer with same name followed by the number 2. Which is why I was really surprised when I tested again and it printed with USB which it didn't do previously.

Starting over searching for driver macOS 10.13 even though I'm on 10.14. Updated password to login to support.HP.com. Got message "we were on not able to automatically locate any software options for this product." Other instructions said to go to or use air print.Īfter a run around with, it directed me back to HP.com/support.

On MBP 16 tried to install a new driver from support.HP.com and got message to go to Apple software update which apparently has not worked since October 2016. The printer did print a "Congratulations!" that I was finally web connected with an email address that I could send what I needed to print, but that was not the solution I wanted.īut now it worked fine on my MacBook Pro 2013 running Sierra, but still not my MacBook Pro 2016 running Mojave. After a while the blinking button went solid, but still not printing. I can't tell exactly what worked because even though I kept testing to see if it was working, I was really surprised when it did.Īfter pressing buttons and trying everything, even changing to a very old SSID named HP-Print-3d-LaserJet-1102, somehow the WIFI button on printer started blinking. Thanks dtravis7 you gave me the hope that it might be worth my time to fix this problem. Good luck and patience may bring some reward. One thing I have noticed when setting up some Bonjour type printing is one must work very slowly and give everything some time to try and get an established connection. i.e.: The HP_Laser_Jet_p1102w printer_name would work but HP Laser Jet p1102w name would NOT. PS: In case it helps the OP, one thing I discovered to get our old printer working throughout our LAN network and for wireless use was the printer_name could NOT contain any spaces that Apple's setup kept insisting on doing in the printer network setup. And oh yes, I used the HandyPrint app to provide wireless/airprint access that worked amazingly well and better than that printopedia app thing which was surprising.

I've still got our HP 4ML Laserjet that works when I turn on the old G5 iMac running 10.5.8 as that Mac serial connected printer needs AppleTalk to work.Īctually it works amazingly well and very easy on toner but a bit slow considering all the router and AsanteTalk adapters it has to go through. And in some places they even stated that it won't normally work for wireless use and a lot of support seems almost useless. One important thing is that I would like to install the printer without the cable, meaning, wirelessly because somehow I lost the cable so this would be easier (whenever possible).Īlso strange is all the different and often conflicting info out on the 'net regarding connecting and setting up that printer, and Apple's attitude doesn't seem very helpful or supportive.Īnd why does HP not even have drivers listed for it for use with HS etc. However when I click the icon it doesn't do anything and when I go to "System preferences - printers and scanners" I do not have any printer there so I guess the installation failed.Ĭould anyone help me to install the printer on my Mac? I now have a new application on my MAC Applications folder which is called HP e-print (the icon is blue and grey and it appears also on the doc).

Unfortunately, my Mac's System Version is now macOS 10.13.3, but I could not find a software for this printer on the website especially developed for Mac High Sierra.Īnyway, I downloaded the software and I sucessfully installed it on my MAC following the instruction on the HP website (basically just opening the file and let the program installed itself). I have download the latest HP software I could find on the hp website (. 3' MYD82 (256GB, Space Grey) - FREE DELIVERY from Kogan Compatbile with MacBook Pro 13-inch (2020) Model Numbers: A2289, A2251, A2338 I have two printers Consumers have been complaining about the new MacBook Pro battery life The issue The issue.
